What You Won’t Find In An Auto Loan Calculator

During 2008, AARP has tried to encourage new members to purchase AARP life insurance. Toward that end, AARP has offered to give a free calculator to new members who have requested information on that organization’s life insurance policy. Now the calculator promised by AARP is far different from the auto loan calculator.

That “free” calculator, like the traditional calculator, has a panel with buttons. The operator of the calculator pushes those buttons in order to enter the numbers that should be used in a given calculation. The operator of the calculator then indicates the mathematic operation that he or she wants the calculator to perform.

The auto loan calculator does not have any buttons. Instead it has a number of blank spaces. The user of the calculator enters certain numbers into those blank spaces. The entered numbers provide the auto loan calculator with the information that it needs.

The Internet viewer who has chosen to use an online calculator does not get to “tell” that calculator what mathematical operations it is supposed to do. The software in the calculator permits it to handle only those operations that relate to calculations on the cost of an auto loan.

Finally, the online calculator that is used by those about to purchase a car can not be stored in a drawer. . It does not take up space, but it has a limited accessibility.
